Keyboard Keybindings for Gaming
Updated at 2018-09-05 20:50
Almost all games require keyboard for the main gameplay. Serious gamers understand how to efficiently bind their keys to reduce "the meat space" lag of pressing the keys.
Default placement of the left hand:
PINKY = shift
RING FINGER = a
MIDDLE FINGER = w
INDEX FINGER = d
THUMB = space
Main responsibility areas of each finger:
P = shift,ctrl
R = a,q,z,<,tab,1
M = w,s,§,2,3
I = d,e,r,t,f,g,h,x,c,v,3,4
T = alt(cmd),space
Difficulty rating of pressing different keys.
Mainly focuses how much you need to move your __whole__ hand to press the key.
1 = shift,a,w,d,space (default positioning)
2 = e,r
3 = s,2,3,f
4 = q,c,x
5 = 1
6 = z, tab
7 = 4
8 = t,§
9 = g,v
10 = 5
11 = <,b,h,y,f1,f2,f3,f4
12 = f5,f6,f7,f8
Modifier key press speed:
ALT > SHIFT > CONTROL
- shift is easy to press with pinky
- alt is easy to press with thumb
- ctrl is hard to press with pinky or thumb, switch with caps lock if needed
