Different beers require different serving temperatures. Simple rule of thumb is that the lighter the beer, the colder it needs to be between 2 and 16 °C.
- 4 °C: market lager
- 7 °C: craft lager, pilsner, wheat beer
- 10 °C: pale ale, light stout, light porter
- 13 °C: bock, bitter, sour ale, most other ales
- 16 °C: barleywine, imperial stout, strong ale, strong porter, doppelbock
